Meng Xu (许萌)

Professor in AI Scheduling and Evolutionary Computation

I am a professor in the School of Automation at Beijing Institute of Technology (北京理工大学自动化学院) and a member of the State Key Lab of Autonomous Intelligent Unmanned Systems (自主智能无人系统全国重点实验室). My research develops evolutionary computation, genetic programming, reinforcement learning, and data-driven optimization methods for dynamic scheduling and decision making.

Before joining Beijing Institute of Technology (北京理工大学), I worked as a Scientist at SIMTech, A*STAR, Singapore, while holding a joint postdoctoral appointment at Nanyang Technological University.

Research / 研究

Learning robust decision rules for complex scheduling systems

Dynamic Scheduling

Learning dispatching rules and adaptive policies for flexible job shops, workflows, fog computing, and manufacturing operations.

Evolutionary Learning

Designing genetic programming, quality diversity, niching, and multi-objective search methods for interpretable scheduling heuristics.

Decision Optimization
